Spring Fly Fishing for Crappie and Bluegill
I headed down to my neighbor's ponds this evening with my 3 weight to do some self-video'd fishing. Despite the 20-30mph gusts, I managed to land 8 fish. 6 of those fish were bluegill ranging from 4-7", and the other two were crappies, one was around 9 inches, the other around 7. I also missed probably a dozen fish, they were spitting it out as soon as they took it, so I had to watch my fly line to leader connection and when it moved, I set the hook. I fished with a black #12 bead head CK nymph as well as one of my black #10 bead head krystal buggers, the buggers didn't get as many hits but the fish held on to them better. Unfortunately my camera died halfway through fishing, so I will be headed back tomorrow with a fully charged camera to continue filming. Thanks for reading!
